I am a BACP Accredited Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with 21 years' experience working with adults, couples and relationships. I offer online therapy in English to clients in the UK and internationally, providing a thoughtful, collaborative space to explore what is happening, understand what may be shaping it, and consider what might help things feel different.
About me and my practice
I believe curiosity can be one of the most useful things we bring to therapy. Rather than beginning with the idea that something is "wrong" and needs fixing, I am interested in understanding what has happened, what is happening now, and the experiences, relationships and patterns that may have shaped how you respond to yourself and others.
People come to me for many different reasons. These include anxiety, low mood, loss and grief, trauma and PTSD, fears and phobias, stress and burnout, feeling stuck, relationship difficulties, separation, significant life changes, and questions around identity and belonging. Sometimes there is no easily defined problem. You may simply know that something does not feel right, or find yourself repeating patterns you would like to understand differently.
Alongside individual therapy, I work with couples and intimate partners, parents, and mothers and adult daughters. My relationship work may include communication and conflict, intimacy, trust, changing relationship dynamics, intercultural relationships, mixed-neurotype relationships and intergenerational patterns.
Having lived and worked internationally for many years, I have particular experience of working with expatriates and people navigating relocation, cultural differences, identity, belonging and life between cultures.
My practice is called weRcurious because curiosity sits at the heart of how I work. Therapy can offer space to understand yourself and your relationships with greater depth, while exploring possibilities for change that make sense for you.
Experience
I have 21 years' experience as a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and have worked across private practice, healthcare, education and Employee Assistance Programme settings.
I established my private practice in 2006 and have extensive experience of working online with clients internationally. Over the years I have worked with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and life circumstances, including expatriates, internationally mobile individuals and families, and people living between cultures.
My work has included individual counselling and psychotherapy, relationship therapy, trauma work, grief and loss, anxiety, fears and phobias, life transitions, reproductive and women's mental health, parenting and family relationships.
I also have extensive experience working with other helping professionals and therapists. Alongside therapy, I offer Reflective Practice sessions for qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and other helping professionals who want a space to think about themselves in relation to their work.
